Whirl 4 (May 2-4, 2008) was the best yet!
All weekend we heard variations of "It was wonderful, wonderful, wonderful"! More young dancers than ever; highest attendance yet; and caller Gaye Fifer remarked on the particularly high level of dancing expertise. Though Whirl "veterans" already expect this, others mentioned that the dancers were a particularly friendly bunch :-)
THANKS TO EVERYBODY WHO CAME -- YOU MADE THE WEEKEND!

As soon as we can we'll be posting photos and, for the first time, cell-phone video clips!

We'll be reviewing all your feedback to make next year's Whirl even more what you want it to be. Here's a couple of early emailed quotes...

This year's Whirl featured the following people and activities:

Great Bear Trio Contrarians callers Shawn Brenneman and Gaye Fifer waltzing w/Gaye Fifer & Wayne Albright great dance and other workshops FREE OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES included beautiful hiking, scenic biking, great birding, scenic drives. People took advantages of our great local restaurants and shopping, and of course whitewater rafting There was a wide variety of lodging available, including onsite camping and bunking Over 100 people (a vast majority) took advantage of our meal plan -- the word's getting around the food's good at camp!

And great dance clothing was provided by Nancy’s Dresses – Skirts – Pants:

I am a big fan of WWW, so I don't see a whole lot of room for improvement. As I've told everyone, the music and calling was off the charts, amazingly good. The West Virginia countryside and campout experience make it a particularly special dance experience. The schedule and content is first-rate. It draws a really friendly and fun group of dancers too. The food and group meals are a big plus. The weekend is a great value too.
